Ozodbek Abdumannobov:
My name is Ozodbek Abdumannobov, and I am a student of the Faculty of Translation at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University. I am delighted to have had the opportunity to study for one semester at one of Germany’s prestigious higher education institutions, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, during the spring semester of the 2025–2026 academic year.
This academic mobility program became an important milestone in both my personal and professional development.
During my studies, I acquired modern theoretical and practical knowledge in translation studies, linguistics, and intercultural communication. Studying in an international academic environment significantly enhanced my critical thinking, analytical abilities, and independent learning skills. Most importantly, studying alongside students from different countries enriched my intercultural communication experience.
Another exciting achievement during this period was successfully obtaining the Goethe-Zertifikat C1 international certificate. My proficiency in the German language enabled me not only to study successfully in Germany but also to visit several European countries, including France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Austria, where I became closely acquainted with their historical landmarks, culture, education systems, traditions, and way of life. This experience clearly demonstrated how mastering foreign languages can open up tremendous opportunities in life.
I am confident that the knowledge and experience I have gained will play a significant role in my future career as a professional translator, researcher, and foreign language specialist. I intend to apply my knowledge and experience to contribute to the development of Uzbekistan’s education system and the field of translation studies, while also encouraging young people to study foreign languages more deeply.
In conclusion, the semester I spent in Germany was an unforgettable life experience, a true school of responsibility, and an important step toward my future achievements. I sincerely express my gratitude to our mentor, Lutfulla Xoliyarov, and to Misha Gabovich for their invaluable support and assistance in making this opportunity possible.
Asem Rustamova:
Studying in Germany under the Erasmus+ program provided me with an excellent opportunity to enhance my academic knowledge while also contributing significantly to my personal and professional development. Throughout the program, I was able to apply my theoretical knowledge in practice, participate in interactive classes based on modern teaching methods, and use the German language in its natural environment.
Attending university classes, experiencing everyday life, and communicating with local people greatly improved my language skills. The Erasmus+ program also gave me the opportunity to meet students from different countries, learn about their cultures, and strengthen my intercultural communication skills. Furthermore, it helped me better appreciate the importance of such values as tolerance and mutual respect.
In my opinion, Erasmus+ is one of the most prestigious international educational programs, providing students with international experience, improving foreign language proficiency, broadening their horizons, helping them build lasting friendships, and preparing them to become competitive professionals in their future careers.
Overall, participating in the Erasmus+ program provided me with valuable knowledge, meaningful experience, unforgettable memories, and important life lessons.
