Currently, the university is actively cooperating with over 180 higher education institutions around the world. These include universities from the USA, Europe, the West, Arab countries, Africa, and CIS countries. Among them are top universities such as the University of Arizona, Webster University, Purdue University (USA), Saint Petersburg State University, Moscow State Linguistic University, Kazan Federal University (Russia), Sorbonne University, University of Paris 2 (France), Humboldt University, Heidelberg University, Ruhr-University Bochum (Germany), University of Seville, University of Jaén, University of Cádiz (Spain), University of Reading, University of Portsmouth (UK), Sultan Qaboos University (Oman), Beijing Foreign Studies University, Shanghai International Studies University, Tianjin Foreign Studies University, Beijing Language and Culture University (China), Toyo University, University of Tsukuba, Wakayama University, Japan Digital University, Tokyo Online University (Japan), Soongsil University, Pusan University of Foreign Studies (South Korea), International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Ahmed Yassawi, and the University of Peoples’ Friendship (Kazakhstan), and others.
Key areas of cooperation: student, faculty, researcher and administrative staff exchange; joint and international educational and research projects; publication of textbooks and scientific articles; participation in international conferences, forums, symposiums, seminars, and webinars; professional development and retraining of teachers; joint educational programs; organization of winter and summer schools, and more.
During the current academic year, around 200 professors and more than 200 students (bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral levels) have had the opportunity to study, take training courses, and participate in international conferences and webinars at partner universities. Official delegations of the university visited foreign institutions to hold negotiations on expanding partnerships.
Partner universities, embassies including the U.S. Embassy, KOICA, JICA, TIKA, and other international organizations regularly send volunteer lecturers to hold lectures, practical sessions, and masterclasses at our university.
The university organizes international conferences annually in cooperation with embassies in Uzbekistan, international organizations, and universities. The U.S. Embassy supports an annual international conference aimed at improving English language teaching. A conference on the PRESETT project is held in cooperation with the British Council. Arab embassies in Tashkent support an annual international conference dedicated to the UN-declared “World Arabic Language Day” in December.
Students, researchers, and lecturers participate in training courses, research projects, and conferences at partner universities under agreed terms. In turn, partner university representatives visit our university under the same cooperation framework.
Students, faculty, and department heads actively participate in contests and events, often taking leading places. For example, students of Chinese participated in the “Chinese Bridge” contest, took the top three spots, and will take part in the final round in Beijing. Japanese language students achieved top positions in the Speech Contest organized by the Japanese Embassy. The Dean of the Faculty of Russian Philology won 1st place in an international competition for best Russian language teachers and will participate in the awards ceremony in Russia in September 2024.
The university is currently implementing joint programs with Japan Digital University, Moscow State Linguistic University, and Adyghe State University (Russia). Work is also underway to introduce dual degree programs with universities in China, Russia, and Turkey.
To introduce international students to Uzbek culture, history, and traditions, the university organizes seasonal camps, language courses, and cultural trips to historical cities of Uzbekistan.
Similar programs were held for students from the University of Arizona and German universities. This year, students from China, Japan, and Indonesia are expected to participate.
