History of the department:
The Department of IELTE students was established under UzSWLU in 2001 in accordance with the "National Personnel Training Program" of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This department was focused on training talented students by utilizing cutting edge approaches to become English Language Instructors. On September 19, 2003, established department "Teaching English in an interactive way" was attached to the 1st Faculty of English Philology in accordance with the Scientific Council of UzSWLU No. 212. Between 2005 to 2013, the department functioned under the name of the "Integrated English Language Teaching" department.

GENERAL DIRECTION OF THE DEPARTMENT
Through integrated practical courses in specialized language (English) and foreign language teaching, the department prepares undergraduate students to reach the C1 level according to common European standards and fully master the principles and approaches of foreign language teaching and use modern pedagogical technologies.

The department works in cooperation with the following organizations and HEIs:
1. Innovative cooperation has been established with the Central Institute of Retraining and Advanced Training of Public Education Workers named after Avloni.
2. There are a number of projects with the British Council. Including the creation of course materials designed for the development of English language

knowledge and skills for Higher Education English teachers. A number of teachers of the department are participants of the projects.
3. Erasmus + IMEP project of the European Union
Modernization of higher education processes in Uzbekistan and adaptation to world standards.
4. Byrne Brewerton, an expert invited by the American Embassy, and the teachers of the department created a study guide for the Integrated Science of Foreign Language Teaching.
5. Cooperation with the British school in Tashkent has been established since 2017.
6. In 2019, the department signed a memorandum with the University of Lancashire, England, and within the framework of this memorandum, 4 students came to the university for pedagogical practice on June 2-29, 2019. A total of 240 students from the university participated in this memorandum.
Qualifications of professors:
The teachers of the department are organizers and participants of the following international and national projects:
• In 2004, 10 professors and teachers of the department attended teacher training course at the University of California Los Angeles, USA.
• 10 members of the department attended a 3-week training course at NILE teacher training institute in Norwich, England.
• 5 professors and teachers of the department are winners of various grants from the US Department of State and were able to improve their qualifications in US Universities.
• During 2020-2021 academic year, the teachers of the department, Nusratullaeva Sh, Artikova M, Pardaeva Z and Nurmuratova D, studied for 6 months in a 125-hour course called "Online teaching" organized by the US department and received a certificate.
Mukhammedova Nilufar Eliboyevna
• From July-August 2004, she studied at UCLA University in California under the UTEP program of the US Embassy.
• In March 2006, International TESOL conference speaker, Tampa, Florida.
• In August 2007, she studied Training the Trainer course at Norwich NILE courses in England.
• In January-May, 2009, visiting scholar at the State University of New York, Buffalo, JFDP program grantee, US Embassy.
• In 2014-2016, PhD student at the doctoral program at the Uzbek State University of World Languages.
• In December 2019 earned PhD in English Literary Studies from the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Languages.
• Certificate of OFQUAL Regulated Level 5 Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (RFQ) course at Westminster College London in February 2024.
Alimova Kamola Mirshakhidovna
• From July-August 2004, she studied at UCLA University in California under the UTEP program of the US Embassy.
• In August 2008, she studied Materials Development at Norwich NILE courses in England.
• In July 2012, she participated in the Developing Intercultural Communicative Competence course organized at the University of East Anglia, England.
• In March 2018, she attended the Enhancing Student Engagement in Higher Education course at the London Metropolitan University, England, as a participant in the ERASMUS project.
• In June-July 2018, she attended a training course at Chico State University in California under the SUSI program of the US Embassy.
• She received the “Train the Trainer” certificate from Cambridge Assessment English in November 2021.
• Certificate in Teaching IELTS from Westminster College London, England in January 2021.
• Certificate of OFQUAL Regulated Level 5 Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (RFQ) course at Westminster College London in February 2022.

Nasirova Gulnora Madaminovna
• In 2020, she became the winner of the state grant presented by the professors-teachers of the U.S. university to improve their professional skills and returned after 1 semester of advanced training.
Yunusova Malika Mirolimovna
• In October 2014, she went to East England for training based on the Inspire program of the British Council in Norwich.
• In July 2014, she went to the University of California, Chico, USA for training under the SUSI program.
Abdurakhmanova Zulfiya Abdullaevna
• In April 2012, she went to East England for training based on the Inspire program of the British Council in Norwich.
Usibaliyeva Sayyora Kayrat qizi
• In 2023-2024, winner of the state grant “El Yurt Umidi”, MA student at the University of Susex.
