An environmental event was held under the slogan “We will turn our neighborhood into a waste-free area”

Today, members of the “Eco Club” of the Uzbekistan State World Languages University organized another environmental campaign in the Guzar neighborhood and on the university campus.

The event, held under the slogan “We will turn our neighborhood into a waste-free area,” included cleaning the streets from excess waste and watering trees and seedlings.

Awareness-raising activities were also conducted among residents and youth to emphasize the importance of keeping the environment clean, avoiding littering, and protecting green spaces.

For information: Since September 2025, regular environmental events have been held in the areas surrounding the university under this slogan. Youth from the neighborhood, professors, teachers, students, and community activists are actively participating and contributing to making the area cleaner and more well-maintained.

    

On November 7, a spiritual and educational event was held at UzSWLU under the slogan “For the Motherland, for the Nation, for the People!” with the participation of members of the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan — Shakhriyor Shavkatov, Guljahon Mardonova, and Fozil Jabborov.

As part of the program, a tree-planting ceremony was held in the “Dostlik” park by the guests and representatives of the UzSWLU administration within the framework of the “Green Space” project.

    

    

    

An international scientific-practical conference on modern environmental policy was held at UzSWLU

On May 30, the Uzbekistan State World Languages University hosted an international scientific-practical conference titled “Modern Environmental Policy: From National Experience to Global Solutions.” This prestigious event was organized at the initiative of the Department of Political Sciences and focused on pressing environmental issues, innovative approaches, and matters of international cooperation.

Opening the conference, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Otabek Yusupov highlighted the large-scale reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan in the field of ecology and environmental protection, as well as the environmental priorities of the “Uzbekistan–2030” strategy, including the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, the development of green energy, and the introduction of water-saving technologies.

Leading experts and scholars in the fields of ecology and politics participated in the conference. Among them were: Professor E’tibor Sultonova of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, Doctor of Political Sciences Farhod Tolipov, Director of the SCO Center for Public Diplomacy Qobuljon Sobirov, Associate Professor Suriya Turayeva, representative of the Aral Sea International Innovation Center Abdirashit Mirzambetov, and researcher of the Political Sciences Department of UzSWLU Shakhina Jo‘rayeva.

Foreign specialists also took part in the event, including Professor Nivedita Das Kundu of York University (Canada), Professor Muhammad Ramzan Ali of RISEBA University (Latvia), Kazakhstani representative Erkin Baydarov, experts from India Beena Kirad and Anoop Kadavath, and Saikal Ibraimova from Osh State University (Kyrgyzstan).

Four panel sessions were held during the conference: “International Cooperation in Ecology: Problems and Solutions,” “Environmental Policy and Economic Relations,” “Social Importance and Environmental Literacy,” and “Legal Foundations of Modern Environmental Policy.” These sessions were attended by national and international scholars, specialists, representatives of ministries and government agencies, as well as students.

During the event, discussions were held on the State Program “Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy,” the “Uzbekistan–2030” strategy, the climate forum held on April 4–5 in Samarkand, COP28, and issues included in the agenda of the 150th anniversary assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

The conference produced proposals and recommendations aimed at reducing environmental risks, strengthening international cooperation, and developing innovative solutions.

During the visit, team members conducted large-scale improvement and beautification work in the neighborhood.

Throughout the event, discussions were held to promote environmental awareness.
Volunteers of “Eko Club” informed residents about the importance of protecting nature, properly sorting waste, and keeping the area clean, encouraging them to actively participate in environmental projects.

This visit not only contributed to the cleanliness of the Guzar neighborhood but also brought positive spirit, good mood, and a sense of environmental responsibility to the youth and local residents.
The team’s initiative became an example for many citizens and will inspire even more young people to join environmental activities in the future.

"Eco-Creative Trend: Students Turned Plastic Bags into Poufs!"

During the workshop, participants practically explored how design, creative thinking, and manual skills can transform ordinary materials into modern and aesthetic products.

The best part? The poufs made by the club members were gifted to the Speaking Club project!
Now the club sessions take place not only effectively, but also in an impressively cozy and creative environment.

The main goal of the club is to develop students’ taste, enhance creative thinking, and promote an eco-friendly mindset. Plastic bags were recycled and transformed into beautiful poufs — ecology + creativity = a perfect tandem!

 

ECO QUEST — a test of knowledge and environmental awareness!

On the initiative of the Youth Union Primary Organization of the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages and the Council of the Faculty of Roman-Germanic Philology, an “Eco Quest” competition was held within the framework of the “Eco Week.”

Participants completed various engaging tasks aimed at increasing environmental awareness, answered ecology-related questions, and tested their knowledge and critical thinking.

During the event, young people gained a deeper understanding of nature conservation, environmental responsibility, and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.

The teams were awarded valuable gifts.

“Eco Quest” became not just a competition, but a true platform for awakening love for nature, ecological thinking, and team spirit.

At the end of Eco Week, active students were awarded Honorary Certificates.

 

On the initiative of the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, an eco-campaign was held in the “Guzar” neighborhood with the participation of youth and local residents. The event aimed to enhance students’ environmental awareness, engage them actively in protecting the environment, and strengthen practical collaboration with children.

• Drawing activities — local children illustrated nature scenes and demonstrated their creativity.
• Herbarium making — students and children created artworks using leaves and flowers.
• Area cleanup — plastic waste was collected, contributing to the cleanliness of the area through an ecological initiative.
• “Pick and Share” campaign — ripe fruits were harvested without waste and distributed to those in need.
• Eco-seminars and national games — children learned about healthy lifestyles, ecology, and national values.

Such events play an important role in developing environmental care, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility among young people.
