Meeting Held at UzSWLU with Representative of German Accreditation Agency ZEvA
On September 8, 2025, a meeting was held at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University with Henning Schafer, Director of Administration and International Affairs Officer of Germany’s ZEvA Accreditation Agency.
The meeting was attended by A. Nasirov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation; M. Chutpulatov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs; X. Yuldashev, Head of the International Cooperation Department; B. Nishanaliev, Head of the International Rankings Department; F. Rashidova, Head of the Joint Degree Programs Coordination Department; K. Muradkasimova, Head of the Research, Innovation, and Academic Staff Development Department; as well as other university officials.
During the dialogue, detailed discussions were held on ZEvA’s areas of activity, accreditation procedures and requirements, timelines, and the costs of international accreditation for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs. The agenda also included the accreditation of joint educational programs and the international recognition of certificates.
As noted by Henning Schafer, the accreditation process typically takes between 6 and 12 months. The fee for accrediting a single program is 15,000 euros. Discounts may apply when multiple programs or institutional accreditation is pursued. He also highlighted that ZEvA has successfully accredited programs at universities ranked in the top 300 globally.
During the meeting, F. Rashidova and K. Muradkasimova received answers to their questions regarding the accreditation of joint programs and doctoral fields. A. Nasirov stated that, after reviewing the international accreditation requirements and guidelines, the university would present additional proposals and feedback.
This meeting marked an important step toward strengthening bilateral cooperation and achieving international recognition for the educational programs of UzSWLU.
