A brief history of the Department of Information Service and Public Relations
Based on the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan on February 26, 1999 "On improving the system of training and retraining of journalist personnel", the Faculty of International Journalism was established as part of the State University of World Languages of Uzbekistan.
B.Dostkorayev was the head of our department called "Theory and History of Journalism" within this faculty. On September 1, 1999, the department began to train its students in the field of specialization in building 104, located on Mukumi street, Chilonzor district.
In the early years, professor G. Salomov, associate professor S. Umirov, A. Nurmatov, H. Saidov, T. Qahhor, Y. Mamatova, I. Ismailova, Sh. Kholmatova, N. Nomozova, F. Mominov, Kh. Do Experienced pedagogues such as `stmuhammad, H. Akbarov, S. Sadiq, M. Sa'diy, N. Toshpolatov, A. Karimov, Kh. Makhamadaliyev, N. Kasimova, T. Eshbek, I. Abdukholikov gave lessons in various fields of science. . Academician B.Nazarov, people's writer O`.Hoshimov, doctor of science F.Mo`minova, candidates of science O.Toshboyev, O.O`sarov, I.Rakhmatullayeva, P.Allamberganova, sports commentator A.Imomkho`jayev, experienced publicist E. Shukur, Sh. Ubaidullayev and others, although they worked for a short time - half-time, quarter-time, on an hourly basis, they left a good impression with their meaningful lessons, reading books, broadcasting, shows. In the early years, American scientists Nicholas Daniloff, Richard Schaefer, Eric Friedman, Alfred Coopers and others gave lectures on various fields of journalism. Northeastern University in Boston, USA donated about 100 books to the faculty library. A group of our scientists went to the city of Boston and returned after improving their qualifications.

On the initiative of UzAOKA, professors-teachers of the department created a 10-volume study guide.
Scientific potential of the department
In 2021, professors and teachers of the department N. Kasimova, D. Aminova, H. Saidov, B. Alimov received the scientific degree of Doctor of Science.
