Department History
The Department of Theoretical Studies was founded in 2021. During this short period, many qualified scholars and specialists have been working at the department. Among the university’s departments, it stands out as one of the most advanced and academically strong.
The first head of the department was Senior Lecturer Roza Valeryevna Timanova (2021–2023).
From 2023 to 2024, the head was PhD, Associate Professor Ibrohimjon Usarov.
From 2024 to 2025, PhD, Associate Professor Ilhom To‘xtayevich Khaydarov led the department.
Since September 4, 2025, the department has been headed by PhD, Associate Professor Madina Alisher qizi Kholmurodova.

Main Objective
To train highly qualified specialists in the field of linguistics in Uzbekistan.
Main Tasks

Conduct lectures and seminars at a high methodological and professional level according to the national education standards;

Supervise undergraduate and master’s theses, and independent researchers;

Fairly assess students’ knowledge under the credit-modular system;

Develop and approve subject curricula;

Prepare and review textbooks and methodological manuals;

Create favorable conditions for research work;

Discuss completed scientific works and recommend them for further stages;

Ensure integration of education, science, and production;

Review and approve personal plans of academic staff;

Study and disseminate best teaching practices, implement modern pedagogical and information technologies in education.

Achievements
The department’s members actively engage in research at national and international levels. Each year, they publish scientific articles, theses, monographs, and teaching manuals. Their research covers linguistics, literary studies, translation theory, language teaching methodology, and modern pedagogical technologies.
The department regularly organizes scientific and methodological seminars, and clubs such as “Young Researchers”, “English for All Ages”, and “English for Academic Purposes”, which enhance scientific potential and help nurture a new generation of researchers.
