History of the Department:

The Department of world literature has been ranked among the Departments of Uzbekistan State University of world languages that have been functioning for many years. The Department of world literature of özdjtu started its career as the Department of World Literature at the same university since 2019. In accordance with Order No. 553 of October 10, 2019, in agreement with the Ministry of Higher and secondary special education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Department of world literature was established on the basis of the approval of the new structure of the University and the agreement with the Ministry of higher and secondary special education of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the basis Doctor of philological sciences, professor Gulnoz Iskandarovna Hallieva has been acting head of the department at the Department of World Literature since 2019. There are 13 faculty members in the Department of World Literature: 1 f.f.d., a professor, 2 associate professors, 2 PhD, 4 senior lecturers and 4 lecturers.

The main goal of the department is to systematically give knowledge to students in the fields of world literature, literary studies, “Uzbek and world literature”fiction and philological education within the framework of ensuring the priorities of the law “on education” and the National Program of training.
