Russian Language and Teaching Methods Department has been operating since 2018 on the basis of the division of the Department of "Russian Linguistics" into the departments of "Modern Russian language" and "Russian language and teaching methods".

ACHIEVEMENTS OF TEACHERS OF THE DEPARTMENT
During the 2023-2024 academic year, the teachers of the department defended their dissertations and received academic degrees:
1) Lagay E.A. – doctoral dissertation (DSc) on the topic "Competence–based approach to the formation of speech culture of students of linguistic higher educational institutions" (Scientific consultant – DSc., Prof. Akhmedova L.T.).
2) Salakhidinova Z.O. – doctoral dissertation (PhD) on the topic: "Lexical and grammatical features of phraseological units in Russian-language discourse" (Scientific supervisor – DSc., Prof. Dzhumanova D.R.).
Russian Language and Teaching Methods Department has 7 independent applicants in the ciphers of specialties 13.00.02 - Theory and methodology of teaching and upbringing (Russian language); 10.00.04 – Languages and literature of the peoples of Europe, America and Australia (philological sciences)
Head of the Department, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Lagay E.A., Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor. Rakhmonov A.B. and Senior lecturer Cherginskaya I.A. from 04/23/2024 to 05/25/2024, they completed advanced training at the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "St. Petersburg State University" (St. Petersburg, Russia) according to the additional professional educational program "School of tester TRKI".
Head of the Department, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Lagay E.A. and Senior lecturer Cherginskaya I.A. completed advanced training from 08/11/2024 to 08/24/2024 at the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "St. Petersburg State University" (St. Petersburg, Russia) under the advanced training program "Russian language and literature at school and university: the specifics of teaching bilinguals and foreign speakers".
RESEARCH WORK OF THE DEPARTMENT
In April 2023, Prof. Russian language, 44.03.05 Pedagogical education, profile "Russian language and foreign (English) language", as well as 1st year undergraduates of the 44.04.01 direction Teaching Russian language in secondary and higher schools of the Institute of Philology, were given a series of lectures in the amount of 12 hours for bachelors of the 3rd and 5th courses of the 44.03.01 Pedagogical education, profile "Russian language", 44.03.05 Pedagogical education, profile "Russian language and foreign (English) language, as well as undergraduates of the 1st year of the 44.04.01 direction Teaching Russian language in secondary and higher schools of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University (Kazan, Russia).
Teachers of the department have participated in international conferences in recent years:
1) Prof. Kulmamatov D.S. took part in the XV Assembly of the Russian World, held in Moscow (Russia). And also in the work of the IV Congress of the Society of Russian Literature and the International Pedagogical Congress "The Legacy of K.D. Ushinsky and Modern Education", held at the Lomonosov Moscow State University (Moscow, Russia). As part of the Congress, an international competition "Teacher and his students in the CIS space" was held, where Prof. Kulmamatov D.S. was awarded the diploma of the winner;
2)Russian in the Intercultural Dialogue of the Central Asian Countries" International Scientific and Practical Conference dedicated to the Year of the Russian Language in the CIS countries, held at the Tajik National University (Dushanbe, Tajikistan) - DSc., acting professor Rakhmonov A.B., dosent Хegai V.M., Senior lecturer Nazhmiddinova M.M.

PUBLICATION OF SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES AND ABSTRACTS
In the 2023-2024 academic year, more than 100 scientific articles were published in various international and international scientific journals, as well as in collections of scientific and practical conferences of international and national scale.
ACHIEVEMENTS OF GIFTED STUDENTS OF THE DEPARTMENT
The department has drawn up a work plan with gifted students. This plan reflects the main stages of attracting students to scientific activities. In accordance with this plan, gifted students are assigned to the supervisor, the directions of their work are determined, scientific consultations are held, students are involved in scientific and practical conferences.
In July 2023 O. Usmanov took part in the work of the school "Young Leaders", organized by the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations of Moscow (Republic of Belarus, Minsk region).
In November 2023 Russian Language Otabek Usmanov took part in the Conference on the Russian Language "Modern Linguistic and Didactic Innovations in Russian Language Teaching", held by the Moscow Government as part of the work to support and spread the Russian language in the countries of residence of Russian compatriots (Bukhara).
Work with gifted students was also carried out in the form of attracting them to participate in speeches at meetings of the "Young Philologist" circle operating at the department. Its main goal is to identify gifted students and involve them in research work. In accordance with this, the entire work of the circle is structured in such a way as to interest students in the current problems of Russian linguistics and direct them to an independent search for solutions to linguistic problems.
SPIRITUAL AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Work with the younger generation is aimed at increasing spiritual and educational work in order to educate young people in the spirit of patriotism, immeasurable loyalty to the ideas of national independence, love for the motherland, creation of a free and prosperous country, faith in a great and noble goal.
The spiritual and educational work carried out at the department is carried out on the basis of the plan of spiritual and educational work adopted for the academic year:
On October 1, 2023, an event dedicated to the "Day of Teachers and Mentors" was held at the Faculty of Russian Philology of the Uzbek State University of World Languages. During the event, students performed national dances, songs, congratulations in different languages. The event, which took place in a festive mood, ended with dancing by teachers and students.
On October 27, 2023, a conversation on the topic "We forgive crime" was held at the Faculty of Russian Philology under the guidance of teachers of the department and instructors. During the conversation, representatives of the internal Affairs delivered a lecture. The students were provided with the necessary information on the topics "Countering crime", "Modern cybercrime" and how not to fall victim to virtual scams.
On December 10, 2023, the teachers of the department as part of a university group went on a trip to the ancient city of Samarkand. The trip was organized as part of the development of domestic tourism in order to immerse yourself in the unique cultural heritage of historical Samarkand. Familiarization with the architectural monuments, including Registan, Guri Amir and Shahi Zinda, did not leave the hearts indifferent. Each stone of these ancient structures has its own history, which expands our understanding of the great history of the world.
On March 5, 2024, the competition "Come on, girls" was held at the Faculty of Russian Philology.
Teachers of the department regularly visit various museums and exhibitions with students.
