EcoLingua — Student Sustainability Society
EcoLingua is the student-led sustainability society of Uzbekistan State University of World Languages (UzSWLU), established in 2022 as part of the university’s “Green University” initiative. The society brings together students from all faculties who are passionate about environmental protection, sustainable development, and using their language skills to promote ecological awareness.
Our Mission
To engage students in environmental sustainability through language education, multilingual communication, and community action — bridging the gap between linguistic expertise and ecological responsibility.
What We Do
• Organize eco-forums, sustainability seminars, and inter-university debates
• Conduct campus and community clean-up campaigns (4+ per year)
• Host Sustainability Awareness Week annually in April (Earth Day)
• Create multilingual sustainability content in Uzbek, Russian, English, and other languages
• Lead tree planting and campus greening initiatives
• Participate in national and international environmental events and competitions
• Produce sustainability-themed video content and social media campaigns
• Collaborate with partner universities on joint sustainability projects
Key Achievements (2022–2025)
• 150+ active student members across all 8 faculties
• 48+ sustainability events organized over 3 academic years
• 12+ campus clean-up campaigns completed
• 150+ trees planted on campus
• 60+ multilingual articles and videos on sustainability topics
• Partnerships with 3 universities on joint eco-projects
• Active social media presence reaching 5,000+ followers

UzSWLU’s student-led sustainability society “EcoLingua” has been operating since 2022 under the Student Council. The society engages 150+ students across all faculties in environmental awareness campaigns, campus clean-ups, tree planting, multilingual sustainability content creation, and inter-university eco-debates. EcoLingua organizes 16+ events annually, including the annual Sustainability Awareness Week aligned with Earth Day. The society uniquely leverages UzSWLU’s linguistic expertise to promote sustainability discourse in multiple languages.
