A “Freshmen Battle” was organized among first-year students

During the competition, students tested their knowledge in four categories:

In the first round — “The World in Our Eyes” — six students from each group were required to present a chosen country in 4 minutes, covering it from all angles with interesting and accurate facts without using any additional sources.

The second round was “Spelling Bee”, where students had to spell given words correctly and quickly. Senior teacher Mr. Ralf from the English Translation Theory Department of the Faculty of Translation was appointed to judge this round.

The third round — “Performance” — involved a stage role play. Students acted out 5–6-minute scenes based on literary works they had independently read since the beginning of the academic year as part of their “self-work.”

In the fourth round — “Singing a Song” — each group performed a song with spiritual, educational, and moral themes.

UzSWLU Rector Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov attended the event and presented gifts to talented students at the end of the program.

At the conclusion of the battle, the jury evaluated each group’s performance based on several criteria, including fluency and confidence in English, creativity, and teamwork skills.

The “Freshmen Battle” brought great joy and excitement to both the audience and participants, leaving lasting impressions on everyone.
