At the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, a Republican scientific-practical conference titled “The Role of National Bakhshi and Epic Storytelling Art in Its Development and the Mentor–Apprentice Traditions” was held, dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the poet Umr Shoir Safar ogli and the 135th anniversary of Mardonakul Avliyoyqul ogli. The event was organized in cooperation with the Republican Center of Bakhshi Art under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Participants of the conference included the First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Avazkhon Tadjikhanov Bakhadirovich; the General Director of the Republican Center of Bakhshi Art, Oloviddin Khojamberdiyev Nurmukhammadovich; the Head of the Department of the Ministry of Culture, Sherzod Tilavov Beshimovich; and plenary speakers such as Professor Urozali Toshmatov of the Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture; People’s Bakhshi of Uzbekistan, Professor Qahhor Rahimov; author of the “Yor-yor” TV program, Muhabbat Hamroyeva; People’s Bakhshi Erkin Urolov; Honored Artist of Uzbekistan, Rustam Karimov; Associate Professor Zafar Hayitov; People’s Bakhshi Rasul Umirov; and student of the “Epic Performance” Department, Azada Qarlibaeva.
The rector of the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, also took part in the event. During the conference, discussions were held on the current development of the national epic storytelling school, the role of bakhshi art in educating the younger generation, and its spiritual and educational significance. The conference program included presentations, scientific reports, and practical exchanges related to the mentor–apprentice tradition.
