2026-10-29 11-07 A ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION ON “ENLIGHTENMENT AGAINST IGNORANCE” HELD AT UZSWLU
On October 28, a round table discussion entitled “Enlightenment Against Ignorance” was held at Uzbekistan State World Languages University (UzSWLU). The event was opened by Valijon Sadiyev, First Vice-Rector for Spiritual and Educational Affairs.
The discussion was attended by Ilhom Marupov, Press Secretary to the Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs and Adviser on Information Policy. He spoke about preventing religious extremism, religious dogmatism, and susceptibility to various alien ideologies. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening ideological resilience and promoting the principles of religious tolerance and interethnic harmony.
The event brought together professors, lecturers, university staff, and tutors. Participants exchanged views on combating ignorance through education and enlightenment, protecting young people from the influence of alien ideologies, and developing their independent thinking skills.
