Academic Cooperation Between Uzbekistan State World Languages University and Dalian University of Technology Reaches a New Stage
A Memorandum of Academic Cooperation has been signed between Uzbekistan State World Languages University (UzSWLU) and Dalian University of Technology of the People's Republic of China.
The memorandum represents an important step toward strengthening cooperation between the two higher education institutions, improving the quality of education in line with international standards, and creating new academic opportunities for students and faculty members.
According to the memorandum, starting from the 2024/2025 academic year, the two universities plan to launch a 2+2 joint degree program in Chinese Studies and Business Administration. Under this program, students will study the first two years at UzSWLU and the remaining two years at Dalian University of Technology. Upon successful completion of the program under the bilateral agreement, students will complete their studies within the joint educational framework.
In addition, the two universities plan to sign a separate bilateral agreement on the implementation of joint educational programs. According to this agreement, students participating in the program will have the opportunity to study free of charge at Dalian University of Technology during their third and fourth years through a grant provided by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation under the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.
Furthermore, within the framework of the partnership, extensive academic and scientific cooperation will be developed at the Faculty of Oriental Philology of UzSWLU in the following areas:
- launching student exchange programs and organizing internships at partner universities;
- organizing summer and winter schools, international student camps, and expanding student mobility programs;
- promoting faculty exchange and supporting participation in lectures, practical classes, seminars, professional development courses, and academic events;
- conducting joint research projects and expanding scientific cooperation in mutually beneficial fields;
- implementing China–Uzbekistan joint bachelor's degree programs in accordance with the decisions of the relevant educational authorities of both countries;
- developing cooperation in other mutually beneficial areas of education, science, and innovation;
- providing the Faculty of Oriental Philology of UzSWLU with Chinese-language educational and academic literature and establishing a modern library with the support of Dalian University of Technology.
This memorandum will play a significant role in expanding UzSWLU's international cooperation network, increasing opportunities for students to receive high-quality education abroad, enhancing the research capacity of faculty members, and elevating strategic educational cooperation between Uzbekistan and China to a new level.
