April 23 — National Sovereignty and Children’s Day was celebrated at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University.

A spiritual and educational event aimed at strengthening cultural ties between Turkey and Uzbekistan was organized by the Turkish language translation program of the Faculty of Translation at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University.

Students of groups 2519 and 2520 celebrated “April 23 — National Sovereignty and Children’s Day” through a special program prepared within the framework of the “Country Studies” course under the coordination of Turkish language instructor Cennet Durnaz Güler from the Department of Second Foreign Languages of the 3rd English Faculty.

The event was held in an uplifting atmosphere reflecting the shared values of the Turkic world and the spirit of academic cooperation. Students performed poems from prominent works of Turkish literature dedicated to April 23, demonstrating both their proficiency in the Turkish language and their deep respect for this important date.

In the educational segment of the event, Cennet Durnaz Güler delivered a lecture and presentation on the topic, highlighting the following key aspects:

• The opening of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey: April 23, 1920, was emphasized as a turning point in the Turkish people’s struggle for independence, along with the importance of the principle “Sovereignty unconditionally belongs to the nation.”

• Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and Children’s Day: information was provided on how this day — the first and only holiday in the world dedicated to children — was established by Atatürk as a symbol of trust in future generations.

• Global mission of peace: the international significance of the holiday was noted, as it fosters friendship and brotherhood among children worldwide.

This event held at the university was recognized as a vivid example of educational diplomacy and the strong bonds between the two brotherly nations.
