At the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, visited the city of Samarkand on April 23–24.
During the visit, the dignitaries toured several significant landmarks, including the “Eternal City” complex in Samarkand and the mausoleum of the First President, Islam Karimov. As a symbol of friendship between the two nations, they also planted a tree together.
Ogiljeren Khaldurdieva, a student of the Faculty of English Philology at UzSWLU and winner of the national stage of the “Young Reader” competition, was among the invited guests at the official ceremony held in honor of the Turkmen leader’s visit. In her speech before the two leaders, she expressed gratitude for the opportunities created for youth and wished for the eternal friendship between the two countries.
She especially thanked the President of Uzbekistan for the attention given to the education and upbringing of young people in the country.
