2026-07-24 09-35 Azerbaijani Representatives Arrive in Uzbekistan
Ali Akbarli, Executive Secretary of the National Association of Municipalities of Azerbaijan, and Aydin Muradov, the Association's Coordinator for Communications, arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the International Sister Cities Forum, which will be held in Samarkand on July 24–25.
The delegation was welcomed at Tashkent International Airport by Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, Rector of the Uzbekistan State World Languages University. Accompanied by the Rector, the guests then visited the Center of Islamic Civilization, where they became acquainted with its modern infrastructure, rich scholarly and spiritual heritage, unique manuscripts, and valuable cultural artifacts.
The grandeur of the Center, along with its rare manuscripts and priceless cultural heritage, left a lasting impression on the Azerbaijani representatives.
Afterward, the delegation held a meeting with the leadership of the nationwide Yuksalish Movement of Uzbekistan. During the meeting, the guests were provided with detailed information about the Movement's key areas of activity, and both sides exchanged views on the prospects for bilateral cooperation.
