Cooperation between Higher Education Institutions of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan Reaches a New Stage

Within the framework of the official visit of Uzbekistan State World Languages University to the Republic of Azerbaijan, significant agreements were reached aimed at further expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan University of Languages. This visit became a logical continuation of consistent efforts to promote the Uzbek language in the international academic arena, while also enriching bilateral cooperation between the higher education institutions of the two countries with concrete practical content.

 

 

As one of the key areas of cooperation, it was noted that in 2026 at least five doctoral students of Azerbaijan University of Languages are planned to continue their academic activities at Uzbekistan State World Languages University. This initiative will contribute to strengthening ties between the scientific schools of the two universities, expanding the scope of joint research, and intensifying the exchange of academic experience.

In addition, during the visit, the Rector of Uzbekistan State World Languages University met with the staff of Azerbaijan University of Languages and held a sincere dialogue with students studying the Uzbek language. The meeting included a close review of the organization of the educational process, the activities of the Center for Uzbek Language and Literature, as well as the conditions created for students. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of efforts aimed at enhancing the prestige of the Uzbek language in the international academic environment.

The delegation also became acquainted with the history of Azerbaijan University of Languages, its current stage of development, achievements, and modern infrastructure established for students, giving high praise to the reforms being implemented.

As part of the visit, a meeting was also organized with school students present at the university. During the warm and engaging discussion, young people were provided with detailed information about opportunities for studying in Uzbekistan, particularly at Uzbekistan State World Languages University, the existing conditions, and promising fields of study. The students’ growing interest in pursuing higher education in Uzbekistan was noted with satisfaction.

 

 

These agreements and meetings are of great importance in advancing cooperation between higher education institutions of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan to a new stage focused on practical outcomes, expanding academic exchange, and further strengthening the position of the Uzbek language in the international scientific and educational space.
