2026-10-23 11-49 DEFENCE OF A PhD DISSERTATION IN PEDAGOGICAL SCIENCES HELD
On 22 October, the defence of the dissertation by Mastona Toshtemirovna Gozieva was held at Uzbekistan State World Languages University. The dissertation was prepared in fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Pedagogical Sciences, specialising in 13.00.02 — Theory and Methodology of Education and Upbringing.
In her research entitled “Enhancing Students’ Sociopragmatic Competence through Authentic Materials in English Language Teaching (A Case Study of Technical Specialisations),” the researcher examined ways to develop students’ sociopragmatic competence through authentic materials in the English language teaching process.
The defence was attended by Ilxomjon Tuxtasinov, Rector of Uzbekistan State World Languages University, the dissertation’s academic supervisor, and the official opponents.
The meeting of the Scientific Council was held in person and online via the Zoom platform.
