2026-09-28 01-20 Delegation of Jinling Institute of Science and Technology Visits Uzbekistan State University of World Languages
On September 25, a delegation from Jinling Institute of Science and Technology visited Uzbekistan State University of World Languages.
As part of the visit, University Rector Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov welcomed the members of the delegation from China. The meeting was attended by Professor Zhang Yan, Vice President of the Institute; Associate Professor Chen Bin, Head of the departments responsible for state property, the science and technology park, tenders and procurement, and equipment; Professor Zeng Yue, Dean of the Institute of Software Engineering; Professor Sui Chen, Director of the Institute Library; Associate Professor Liu Lin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute of International Education; as well as responsible officials and faculty members of UzSWLU.
At the beginning of the meeting, Rector Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov provided information about the university’s educational programmes, international cooperation, and ongoing efforts in Chinese language education. It was noted that the university currently has 26,500 students, who are taught by more than 1,300 faculty members. It was also highlighted that Chinese has been taught at the university as a second language since 1990 and as a major language since 2014.
It was noted that approximately 1,210 students are currently studying Chinese at the university. Local and Chinese specialists work at the Department of Chinese Philology. The university has established cooperation with a number of prestigious higher education institutions in China, and more than 40 students are currently studying in China through grants provided by the Government of China, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and Chinese universities.
During the meeting, the participants discussed student and faculty exchanges, the establishment of joint educational programmes, training specialists in the field of “Chinese language + professional skills,” the organization of student internships, as well as the implementation of summer and winter schools and short-term educational programmes.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for the two sides to exchange views on further expanding cooperation in education and research, sharing experience, and implementing new joint projects.
