2026-10-16 11-34 DÍA DE LA HISPANIDAD CELEBRATED AT UZSWLU!
On 15 October 2026, the Department of Romance and Germanic Translation Studies of the Faculty of Translation at Uzbekistan State World Languages University organized an event dedicated to Día de la Hispanidad.
During the event, students studying Spanish performed musical pieces and songs and showcased the distinctive customs and traditions of the Spanish people. The celebration helped foster greater interest in the Spanish language and culture, strengthen students’ knowledge, and promote intercultural dialogue.
Día de la Hispanidad is an important date associated with the historical and cultural heritage of Spanish-speaking peoples. In Spain, the National Day of Spain, known as Fiesta Nacional de España, is celebrated on 12 October. This date commemorates the historical event of 12 October 1492, when Christopher Columbus’s expedition reached the islands of the Caribbean Sea.
Bringing together the Spanish language, rich cultural heritage, and unique traditions, the event provided students with an unforgettable experience!
