2026-10-23 11-55 DISSERTATION DEFENCE HELD
The defence of Nilufar Ummatul qizi Karimova’s dissertation was held at Uzbekistan State World Languages University. The dissertation, entitled “A Concept for Enhancing Soft Skills in Teaching English to Students of Non-Linguistic Specialisations,” was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Science (DSc) in Pedagogical Sciences in the speciality 13.00.02 — Theory and Methodology of Education and Upbringing (English Language).
The meeting of the Scientific Council was attended by Ilxomjon Tukhtasinov, Rector of Uzbekistan State World Languages University, and the official opponents. During the meeting, the main content of the dissertation, the scientific novelty of the research, the findings, and the relevance of the topic were discussed. The official opponents shared their comments and observations, followed by an academic discussion.
During the defence, particular attention was paid to enhancing soft skills among students of non-linguistic specialisations in the process of learning English. The scientific and practical significance of the research, as well as its role in the educational process, was also discussed.
