Dissertation Defense

On April 4, a dissertation defense was held at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages under the Scientific Council DSc.03/30.12.2019. Fil.27.01.

According to the agenda, the dissertation titled "The Literature of the Chinese-American Diaspora and its Influence on the Works of Amy Tan," prepared by Dong Linan, was presented for the award of the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the specialty 10.00.04 – "Language and Literature of European, American, and Australian Peoples."

The defense took place with the participation of the rector of UzSWLU, Professor Ilkhomjon Tuhtasinov, members of the Scientific Council, official opponents, and other university officials.

The dissertation analyzes Chinese-American literary relations, the development of immigrant literature, and the diasporic peculiarities in the works of author Amy Tan. During the defense, experts highlighted the relevance of the research and its theoretical and practical significance.

The members of the Scientific Council highly evaluated the dissertation and decided to award the corresponding academic degree to the author.
