International Academic Cooperation Reaches a New Level under the Erasmus+ Programme

A delegation from the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages (UzSWLU) is participating in an international seminar, training, and experience-sharing programme held in Logroño, Spain, from 13 to 17 July 2026, within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA171 Project No. 2023-1-ES01-KA171-HED-000148842, implemented in cooperation with one of Spain's leading higher education institutions, the University of La Rioja (Universidad de La Rioja).

As part of the visit, on 13 July 2026, Ilhomjon Tukhtasinov, Rector of the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, and Eva Sanz Arazuri, Rector of the University of La Rioja, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement is intended to further strengthen the long-term strategic partnership between the two universities and expand cooperation in education and research.

During the meeting, the two sides held comprehensive discussions on promising areas of future collaboration. Particular attention was given to the following priorities:

• developing and implementing joint academic programmes;

• expanding academic mobility opportunities for students and faculty members;

• promoting research activities and joint scientific projects;

• strengthening cooperation within the Erasmus+ Programme and other international grant initiatives;

• organizing online conferences and jointly developing teaching and methodological materials, as well as academic textbooks.

The participants also discussed the integration of international best practices into the educational process, enhancing the international capacity of both universities, expanding academic mobility, and promoting the practical implementation of modern educational technologies.
