ESTABLISHMENT OF SPIN-OFF COMPANIES: BEST PRACTICES STUDIED
In order to ensure the implementation of the tasks outlined in the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PF–54 dated April 4, 2026, “On the introduction of a system for organizing production based on new developments in the country and additional measures to support science,” as well as the Order No. 141 of the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 15, 2026, the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages is carrying out systematic work to establish spin-off companies based on new developments and commercialize innovative projects.
To further develop this area, study the activities of higher education institutions with advanced experience in building spin-off and startup ecosystems, and exchange experience, a working visit to Fergana State Technical University was organized on August 3–4.
The delegation from the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages included K. Muradkasimova, Head of the Department for Research, Innovation and Training of Scientific and Pedagogical Personnel; F. Abdullayeva, Head of the Department for Commercialization of Scientific and Innovative Developments; Sh. Ismatova, Head of the Department for Organizing Research Activities of Gifted Students; and S. Ismoilov, Engineer of the Department for Scientific Innovation Projects and Developments.
During the visit, meetings were held with relevant specialists of Fergana State Technical University, where best practices were studied in the areas of establishing and developing spin-off companies, supporting startup projects, commercializing scientific and innovative developments, and strengthening cooperation between universities and the business sector.
During the discussions, the participants exchanged views on introducing effective mechanisms in these areas, sharing experience, and developing future cooperation.
