Uzbekistan State World Languages University continues to implement its initiative under the slogan “A Path to the Future Through Foreign Languages.” The initiative aims to increase school students’ interest in learning foreign languages, develop their knowledge and practical skills, and promote the wider adoption of modern teaching methods.

On 22 October, the Foreign Language Development and Teaching Centre established by Uzbekistan State World Languages University was officially opened at General Education School No. 81 in the Uchtepa district of Tashkent.

The event was attended by a university delegation led by Rector and Professor Ilxomjon Tuxtasinov, Ziyoda Tolipovna Khaydarova, the principal of School No. 81, and representatives of the school.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Rector Ilxomjon Tuxtasinov highlighted the importance of learning foreign languages in today's world, developing students’ language proficiency and communication skills, introducing modern teaching methods, and strengthening cooperation between schools and universities. He emphasised that the new centre would provide additional opportunities for students to study foreign languages in greater depth and apply their knowledge in practice.

Shohida opa, the university's adviser on women's affairs, also addressed the participants. She spoke about the importance of young people's access to quality education, making effective use of modern educational opportunities, and acquiring a strong command of foreign languages.

During the ceremony, the guests cut the symbolic ribbon and toured the newly renovated and modernly equipped classroom. This was followed by an introductory meeting with volunteers from the school and the university. The volunteers provided information about study plans and innovative methods used in foreign language teaching.

To support the further development of the centre and create additional learning opportunities for students, the university donated a collection of books to the school, including international educational materials, workbooks, and innovative teaching resources. These publications are intended to broaden students’ knowledge, support independent learning, and help them improve their foreign language skills.

The opening of the Foreign Language Development and Teaching Centre at School No. 81 in Uchtepa district marks another step in an initiative aimed at strengthening cooperation between schools and higher education institutions, helping young people develop strong foreign language skills, and expanding their future educational and professional opportunities.
