On March 13, a delegation consisting of four experts from France visited the Uzbekistan State World Languages University.
They initially acquainted themselves with the university buildings, conditions created for students, educational laboratories, the operation of the information resource center, and educational-methodological literature related to the field.
The rector of USWLU welcomed the guests and had discussions with them about ensuring the quality of education and improving the educational process at the university. A memorandum of understanding was signed with the University of Poitiers in France.
A working group consisting of French experts and the officials, the faculty staff of USWLU exchanged views on the educational standards, fields of study, and specialties adopted in the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as curricula and programs, and qualification requirements. They also discussed future collaboration regarding organizing the educational process and the activities of the Uzbekistan-France university.
In the second half of the day, the working group members observed classes at the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology, and interacted with students and teachers of the French language group. The visit concluded with a discussion among the French experts and the faculty of the “French Language Department” on the topics studied. The guests agreed to accelerate efforts in this direction in the future.
