On December 6–7, the international language festival Festival des Langues was held in Tours, one of the ancient cities of France. This prestigious festival brought together representatives of more than 80 languages and cultures from around the world. Within the framework of the event, language classes, national songs and dances, presentations of traditional cuisine, as well as cultural exhibitions were organized. Uzbekistan also presented its exhibition to the wide public. For foreign visitors, lessons in the Uzbek language and lectures on Uzbekistan’s higher education system, the history of the Uzbek language, and Uzbek classical literature were delivered. The organizer of the festival — Stavros Hadjiyianni, President of the international association Linguafest’37 — awarded special certificates to the participating professors from Uzbekistan.

Among the specialists who came from Uzbekistan to take part in this prestigious event, Professor Madjidova Ra’no Urishevna from the Uzbek State University of World Languages also took an active part.

Additionally, the Uzbekistan exhibition presented during the festival on December 6–7 was organized by Michel Buassone, a member of the international association, together with the Uzbekistan–France Friendship Society. The festival, held in this historic place where the famous writer Honoré de Balzac was born and created his works, continues to serve as a bridge of friendship between different cultures.
