International Scientific and Practical Conference “AI and Beyond” Held at Uzbekistan State World Languages University
On January 30, the Uzbekistan State World Languages University (USWLU) hosted the international scientific and practical conference titled “AI and Beyond.” The event was dedicated to the role of artificial intelligence technologies in the educational process and to issues related to their effective, ethical, and scientifically grounded implementation.
The opening ceremony was attended by the university leadership, representatives of international educational organizations, and foreign experts, who delivered presentations on digital transformation in education, pedagogical innovations, and integration into the global educational environment.
As part of the conference, representatives of the Regional English Language Office (RELO), along with the keynote speaker, Dr. Nodira Isamukhamedova, presented research-based and analytical reports on artificial intelligence and digital literacy, as well as the potential of AI technologies in improving the quality of education.
The conference brought together professors, researchers, practicing educators, and education specialists from both international and local higher education institutions.
During the event, participants discussed pressing issues such as the integration of artificial intelligence into language teaching, the use of ChatGPT and other AI platforms for lesson planning, assessment, and quality enhancement, as well as digital and academic integrity, assistive technologies, and adherence to ethical standards.
Key Focus Areas of the Conference
Following the plenary session, practical seminar-training workshops were conducted in two stages covering the following areas:
-
Artificial Intelligence and Language Education — strategies for the effective use of ChatGPT and AI tools in foreign language teaching and the development of digital competencies;
-
Digital and Ethical Approaches in Education — AI-assisted assessment, authorship issues, academic integrity, and ethical standards;
-
Innovative Pedagogical Practice — the use of multimodal methods, assistive technologies, and modern educational platforms.
In addition, a discussion session titled “AI and Beyond: Classroom Realities and Teacher Voices” provided a platform for analyzing teachers’ practical experiences, challenges, and proposals through academic dialogue.
In recent years, artificial intelligence technologies have significantly transformed the education system, creating new opportunities in teaching and learning processes. The conference organized at USWLU contributed to the scientific exploration of global educational trends, the implementation of advanced international practices, and the enhancement of educators’ digital capacity.
The high-level organization of the international scientific and practical conference “AI and Beyond” made it an important platform for strengthening international cooperation in education, science, and innovation, as well as for shaping a modern educational environment.
