Meeting with U.S. Embassy RELO Representatives and English Language Fellow at UzSWLU

On September 5, the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages hosted a meeting with representatives of the U.S. Embassy Regional English Language Office (RELO) and English language specialists.

The event was attended by UzSWLU Rector Ilkhomjon Tuxtasinov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation A. Nasirov, Head of the International Cooperation Department Kh. Yuldashev, Dean of the 1st English Faculty G. Ergasheva, Faculty of English Philology lecturer K. Nazmuddinxonova, and English language teacher G. Radjabova.

From the U.S. Embassy RELO office, Executive Officer John Silver, English Language Fellow Dr. Chiramonte, and staff member Nargiza Nug‘manova participated.

During the meeting, the following points were discussed:

• engaging American English teachers through RELO programs to deliver lectures and seminar-trainings at UzSWLU;

• organizing traditional international conferences and implementing joint projects with the support of the U.S. Department of State;

• arranging Dr. Chiramonte’s teaching at the 1st English Faculty, the Faculty of English Philology, and professional development courses.

The parties agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and expand international opportunities for UzSWLU faculty and students.
