On 27 October 2025, a significant meeting took place at the Uzbek State University of World Languages (USUWL) with representatives of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), based in Brussels, Belgium

The meeting was devoted to strengthening the cooperation between the university and the foundation, and to discussing prospective international projects — in particular the development of a “Capacity Building” project under the Erasmus + programme of the European Union.

From EFMD were present Mr Jean-Baptiste Meillard (Senior Manager for International Projects) and Mr Christophe Terras (Deputy Director). From the university participated Rector I. Tuxtasinov, Pro-Rector for International Cooperation A. Nasirov, Head of the ARIA Accreditation Agency and Professor of the Faculty of Translation G. Rakhimov, his deputy A. Nizomov, Head of the International Cooperation Department X. Yuldashev, Head of the Department for Scientific Research, Innovation and Training of Academic-Teaching Staff K. Muradkasimova, Head of the Department for Organisation of Scientific-Research Activities of Talented Students Sh. Ismatova, and responsible staff of the Academic-Methodological Management.

In addition, the rectors of Bukhara State University, Karshi State University, Termez State University and Urgench State University joined online.

During the meeting the following main issues were discussed:

• the development of a “Capacity Building” project under the Erasmus+ programme: improving the quality of science and education, ensuring graduate employment, integration of education-science-industry;

• improving the university’s governance system and aligning the educational processes with international standards;

• developing joint activities within research and innovation projects;

• organising scientific seminars, forums and conferences, expanding international scientific cooperation.

This meeting represents an important strategic milestone for the Uzbek State University of World Languages in the field of international cooperation, enhancing education quality, improving governance, and further raising its reputation in the international educational arena.
