On February 20, a meeting took place at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages with the participation of representatives from Germany’s DAAD organization and several professors from prestigious universities.

The event featured DAAD officials Elena Schmidt, Vera Rogova, and Jamshid Karimov, DAAD lecturer and volunteer teacher at UzSWLU, Yohanna Mayer. Also attending were Professor Mark Hengerer from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Professor Joanna Uzga from Fulda University, Professor Mattias Berger from Jade University, and Professor Natali Milaxin from the Technical University of Berlin.

 

 

The event was opened by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of UzSWLU, A. Nasirov, who presented the university’s activities, international cooperation areas, and German language education. Elena Schmidt, DAAD representative, also held a presentation on the organization’s activities and projects. Representatives of German universities talked about their institutions and cooperation opportunities.

The meeting was attended by the head of the international cooperation department of UzSWLU, X. Yuldashev, the dean of the Roman-German philology faculty, X. Hakimov, the dean of the Faculty of Translation Studies, U. Yuldoshev, the head of the German language department, I. Ziyadullaev, and the head of the Roman-German Translation Studies department, L. Khaliyaorov.

 

 

During the meeting, the parties agreed to develop cooperation in the following area

 - Expanding exchange programs for students and professors

- Implementing international projects, including Erasmus+

- Developing cooperation in scientific research

- Organizing professional development programs for German language teachers at UzSWLU

- Engaging students from German universities in summer language camps

During the event, the guests were introduced to the infrastructure of UzSWLU, the Information Resource Center, the university museum, and the sports complex. They also visited the national costume exhibition at the university and got closely acquainted with Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage and the uniqueness of its national clothing.
