On January 18, a meeting was held at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages with Mr. Baba Naoki, Deputy Director of Nippon Travel Agency Co. Ltd. from Japan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of mutual cooperation.

Rector of UzSWLU, I. Tukhtasinov, provided detailed information about the university’s activities, international cooperation relations, including cooperation with the Japanese Embassy, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Japanese universities, and the state of Japanese language teaching.

Mr. Baba Naoki expressed his gratitude for the reception and noted his pleasure in collaborating with a university that has the most students learning Japanese among foreign higher educational institutions, as well as many Japanese-speaking students.

As a result of the discussions, the Japanese side expressed its readiness to organize intensive Japanese language and professional training courses (both online and offline) for students, arrange internships for  UzSWLU students at companies and enterprises in both Uzbekistan and Japan, and provide practical assistance in obtaining scholarships for students to study for one semester or one academic year at Japanese universities.

Furthermore, Mr. Baba Naoki emphasized that Nippon Travel Agency Co. Ltd. could assist in training specialists in the fields of translation-guiding and tourism at UzSWLU, including supporting the improvement of its material and technical base.

At the end of the meeting, a partnership agreement was signed between  UzSWLU and Nippon Travel Agency Co. Ltd.
