On May 12, Uzbekistan State World Languages University hosted an event dedicated to May 9 — the Day of Remembrance and Honor.
The program began with a patriotic musical performance by the Military Orchestra of Tashkent city.
Then, the rector of Uzbekistan State World Languages University, Ilhomjon Tuxtasinov, delivered a speech honoring compatriots who sacrificed their lives on the battlefield, those who worked selflessly on the home front, as well as devoted teachers and scholars who dedicated their lives to the nation, the people, and science. He officially opened the event.
During the program, there was a presentation of the book “Barhayot Ziyolilar” (“Living Intellectuals”), along with stage performances prepared by active students of the university.
Speakers at the event shared their thoughts on the value of peace in today’s global world, the devastating impact of World War II on humanity, and the importance of preserving the memory of our ancestors who took part in the war.
The program also featured performances by entrepreneur, investor, and business coach Damir Rakhmonov; soloists of the State Academic Grand Theater named after Alisher Navoi; “Nihol” award winners Umid Isroilov and Aminzoda Jumaniyozov; opera singer Birdina Aybekovna; and Honored Artist of Uzbekistan Khotamjon Yuldashev.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony, during which participants were presented with commemorative gifts.
Additionally, a traditional Uzbek meal — plov — was served for the honored guests as part of a special reception.
