On May 9, in connection with the Day of Remembrance and Honor, large-scale spiritual and educational events are being organized at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University.
Today, representatives of the university administration, faculty members, and students, led by Rector Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, visited the “Memorial to the Victims of Repression” to honor the memory of ancestors who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and peace of the Motherland. Wreaths were laid at the memorial, and tribute was paid to the deceased.

During the visit, special tribute was paid to our compatriots who perished in the fight against fascism during World War II, as well as to military personnel and law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty during the years of independence. It was emphasized that their courage, dedication, and service to the Motherland serve as an example for the younger generation.
Afterwards, the participants visited the State Museum of Memory of Victims of Repression, where they closely familiarized themselves with the lives, scientific legacy, and activities of the victims. The museum exhibits provided detailed insights into the complex and challenging processes of that period and the hardships endured by our people.
During the event, it was particularly emphasized that the role of historical sites in educating youth is invaluable. Such places are important for preserving historical memory, deeply studying the heritage of ancestors, and passing it on to future generations. It was also highlighted that such visits play a significant educational role in strengthening feelings of patriotism, national pride, and moral responsibility among students.
These events are being held under this year’s motto: “Duty, Courage, Perseverance!”

The main objective of the events is to deeply study the lives and activities of compatriots who were victims of repression, widely promote their rich scientific and spiritual heritage, preserve their memory, and disseminate this knowledge among young people. This contributes to strengthening respect for ancestors, awareness of history, and devotion to the Motherland among the younger generation.
