Partnership Between UzSWLU and Southern Federal University Enters a New Phase

On June 3, Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, Rector of Uzbekistan State World Languages University (UzSWLU), received N. Karpovskaya, an authorized representative of the Rector of the Southern Federal University (SFedU) of the Russian Federation, and M. Shevtsova, Deputy Director of the International Institute for Interdisciplinary Education and Ibero-American Studies.

 

 

During the meeting, the sides reviewed the work carried out under the 2022 cooperation agreement and roadmap, and discussed the achievements made to date. Both parties acknowledged that the current cooperation level is not satisfactory and agreed to intensify collaboration moving forward.

They discussed the following areas:

  • Student and faculty exchange,

  • Development of joint academic programs,

  • Implementation of joint research projects,

  • Organization of joint scientific and practical conferences,

  • Execution of professional development programs.

The guests visited UzSWLU’s Faculty of Russian Philology and the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology to observe classes in Russian as a foreign language and programs in Spanish and Portuguese.

 

 

In the afternoon, a meeting chaired by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation was held to discuss future priorities and set a roadmap for practical steps.
