On December 24, 2025, an Academic Council meeting dedicated to the defense of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) dissertation in Philological Sciences was held at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University. The meeting took place at 10:00 a.m. in an offline format and simultaneously online via the ZOOM platform.
During the meeting, the PhD dissertation of Zilola Saydarifovna Alimova entitled “Functional Characteristics of Military Terms in Modern Political Discourse (Based on the English and Uzbek Languages)” was defended under specialty 10.00.06 – Comparative Literature, Contrastive Linguistics, and Translation Studies.
The defense included discussions on the relevance of the research, its scientific novelty, and practical significance.
The meeting was attended by the Rector of the Uzbekistan State World Languages University, I. Tukhtasinov, along with official opponents, who highlighted the importance of the study for modern linguistics and political discourse analysis and wished the candidate success in her future academic career.
