Professors from the University of Warwick visited UzSWLU

On April 9, a meeting was held at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University with representatives of the University of Warwick (UK).

The meeting was attended by Professor Fiona Copland, Associate Professor Kamila Tangirova, as well as representatives of UzSWLU: Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation O. Yusupov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation A. Nasirov, Head of Department Kh. Yuldashev, and Head of the Joint Educational Programs Coordination Department Feruza Rashidova.

During the meeting, the parties discussed establishing long-term strategic academic cooperation that goes beyond short-term initiatives.

In particular, proposals were put forward to launch joint bachelor’s and master’s programs starting from the 2027–2028 academic year, coordinate all academic processes, ensure quality assurance, and integrate educational programs.

The sides also identified priority areas for joint doctoral research, including education quality, teacher training, the social aspects of education, and the role of the English language in transforming educational systems.

The meeting also addressed the establishment of a joint research and education platform, the creation of a teacher training laboratory, and the implementation of training and professional development programs.

As part of the event, Professor Fiona Copland delivered a lecture on academic writing and the use of artificial intelligence in education.

The parties agreed to further expand cooperation and implement concrete joint projects.
