On September 4, 2025, Uzbekistan State World Languages University hosted a meeting with Associate Professor Simone Hashiguti from the prestigious University of Campinas, Brazil.

The meeting was attended by the university’s rector, Ilhomjon Tuxtasinov; Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, A. Nasirov; Head of the International Cooperation Department, Kh. Yuldashev; Dean of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology, Kh. Hakimov; and Head of the Department of Spanish Language, D. Bakhonova.

A number of important issues were discussed, including:

• introducing a system for teaching Portuguese at the university,

• developing curricula, programs, and methodological support,

• hosting a visiting professor from Brazil,

• training local specialists.

Other mutually interesting areas of cooperation were also considered.

This meeting marks an important step towards establishing Portuguese language instruction at UzSWLU and strengthening educational and scientific ties with Brazil.
