Scientific Seminar Held at Uzbekistan State World Languages University

On 29 June 2026, Uzbekistan State World Languages University hosted a scientific seminar entitled “The Structure of Conducting Scientific Research,” organized by the Department of Scientific Research, Innovation, and Training of Scientific and Pedagogical Personnel. The seminar was held for PhD students, doctoral candidates, and independent researchers.

The seminar was opened with welcoming remarks by Professor Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, Rector of Uzbekistan State World Languages University. In his address, the Rector spoke about the university’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its research capacity, improve the quality of scientific research, provide comprehensive support for young scholars and researchers, and promote science and innovation. He also emphasized the crucial role of methodological approaches in conducting high-quality scientific research.

The event was attended by members of the university administration, faculty members, representatives of faculties and departments, PhD students, doctoral candidates, and independent researchers.

During the seminar, Professor G‘ayrat Shoumarov, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, and Rector of Profi University, delivered a comprehensive lecture on the effective organization of scientific research, the proper selection of research methodology, research planning, and the challenges commonly encountered in dissertation writing, together with practical solutions.

The speaker also provided recommendations on substantiating the relevance of a research topic, identifying scientific novelty, applying appropriate research methods, implementing research findings in practice, and publishing scientific articles in reputable academic journals.

At the end of the seminar, participants raised questions of interest and exchanged views on current issues related to conducting scientific research. The event served as an important platform for experience sharing and professional development for young researchers engaged in scientific work.

Professor G‘ayrat Shoumarov is a Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, and one of the country's leading scholars who has made a substantial contribution to the development of psychological science. He is the author of more than 400 scientific publications, including monographs, textbooks, and teaching manuals, and is recognized as one of the founders of the scientific school in family psychology.

From 2002 to 2008, Professor Shoumarov served as Rector of Uzbekistan State World Languages University. During his tenure, numerous reforms were implemented to strengthen the university’s research capacity, improve the quality of education, and expand international cooperation.

He also served as the Minister of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 2008 to 2010, making a significant contribution to introducing psychological services into the education system, improving national educational standards, and promoting research in pedagogy and psychology.
