Students of Uzbekistan State University of World Languages achieved a historic result at the international competition “Chinese Bridge – 2026”!

On May 16, 2026, the award ceremony for the finalists and winners of the international “Chinese Bridge – 2026” competition was held at the Confucius Institute under Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.

Within the framework of the event, the award ceremony for the winners of the short video contest “The Silk Road Connects Us — Me and China” and the Embassy scholarship awarding ceremony were also held.

 

 

The event took place in the main hall of the Confucius Institute. It brought together talented students of Chinese language, professors and teachers, representatives of the Chinese Cultural Center, and partner organizations.

Rector of Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, Ilkhomjon Madaminovich Tukhtasinov, also attended the event and warmly congratulated the students on their achievements, expressing gratitude to their teachers and parents.

The “Chinese Bridge – 2026” international competition was organized among students of higher education institutions in Uzbekistan by the Confucius Institutes under TSUOS and SamSIFL, as well as the Chinese Cultural Center.

In the preliminary stages, 67 students from across the country participated. After the selection and semifinal rounds, 15 top students from 7 leading universities qualified for the final stage.

According to the final results, students of UzSWLU achieved the following awards:

GRAND PRIX
Kh. Nafisa — UzSWLU

1st place
Sh. Shahrizoda — UzSWLU

2nd place
Sh. Sadullayeva — UzSWLU
M. Abdurakhimova — UzSWLU
G. Yendibayeva — UzSWLU

3rd place
U. Satkulova — UzSWLU

 

 

In the semifinal stage held at the Chinese Cultural Center, two students of UzSWLU won 1st and 2nd places.

Additionally, in the Confucius Institute semifinal round, four students of UzSWLU occupied all top four positions.

Thus, all six top-ranked students nationwide were from UzSWLU.

Notably, Kh. Nafisa demonstrated outstanding performance throughout all stages and became the Grand Prix winner of the national final.

As a result of this victory, Nafisa Kh. and Shahrizoda Kh. earned the right to represent Uzbekistan at the 25th World “Chinese Bridge – 2026” competition in the People’s Republic of China.

Their travel and participation expenses, including a one-month stay in China, will be fully covered.

During the ceremony, winners were awarded diplomas, souvenirs, and special Embassy scholarships. Winners of the video contest “The Silk Road Connects Us — Me and China” were also honored.

This international project contributes to increasing youth interest in learning Chinese, strengthening cultural ties, and developing international cooperation.
