2026-09-03 02-47 “The First Bell” — The First Step Towards Knowledge and Noble Dreams
Today, September 2, educational institutions across the country held “The First Bell” ceremonies dedicated to the beginning of the new 2026–2027 academic year. The events were held in a festive and uplifting atmosphere under the motto: “One Homeland, One People — Together We Build a New Life and Future!”
One of these ceremonies took place at Secondary School No. 4 in Shahrihan District, Andijan Region.
The event was attended by Professor Ilkhomjon Tuxtasinov, Rector of Uzbekistan State University of World Languages. Notably, the rector himself studied at this school. Therefore, his return years later to the educational institution where he once received his education, on the very first day of the new academic year, brought a particularly warm and sincere atmosphere to the ceremony.
Speaking at the event, Ilkhomjon Tuxtasinov sincerely congratulated the school community, teachers, students and parents on the beginning of the new academic year. In his speech, he emphasized the important role of education and knowledge in a person’s life and wished the students success in gaining knowledge, pursuing new achievements and confidently striving towards their future.
One of the most joyful moments of the ceremony was the official presentation of the “President’s Gift” to the young children taking their first steps into first grade.
Ilkhomjon Tuxtasinov warmly congratulated the first-grade students on beginning their school journey, presented them with the “President’s Gift” and wished them success and good fortune on their path to knowledge.
The rector also presented the school where he once studied with 100 books, books and literary works recommended by the Ministry, 30 pieces of sports equipment across five types, as well as a computer set.
These gifts will contribute to enriching the school library, increasing students’ interest in reading, expanding opportunities for sports activities, and enhancing access to modern information technologies.
In addition, “President’s Gifts” were delivered to 216 first-grade students.
During the ceremony, a festive address from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to school students, teachers and mentors was also read out.
The event was given special meaning by the fact that a person who had once been a student at this very school returned years later to his alma mater, met with the younger generation, conveyed his best wishes to them, and presented valuable gifts to the educational institution.
