The rector of the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, I. Tukhtasinov, received the Director of the British Council's office in Uzbekistan, Denis Wadingham, and the Head of the Testing Department, Amirsaid Sadikov.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the establishment of an IELTS registration center at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages.

It was noted that the center will be responsible for organizing special preparation courses for those wishing to take the IELTS test, registering them, and conducting the tests. In exchange for organizing this activity, the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages will receive free spots, and the British Council will engage qualified specialists, organize seminars and training, and provide opportunities for university faculty members to undergo professional development at British universities, with the funding coming from the contribution made by the university.

I. Tukhtasinov emphasized that an important issue at the moment is organizing professional development and internship programs for the university’s teachers and researchers in the UK, and he proposed expanding the areas of cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, a bilateral agreement was signed regarding the establishment of an IELTS registration center at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages.
