The "Science and Education: The Bridge Between Uzbekistan and France" Conference Held in Paris

On March 10, 2025, an international scientific and practical conference titled “Science and Education: The Bridge Between Uzbekistan and France” was held in Paris, France. The event was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in France.

 

 

The conference was attended by Philippe Baptiste, Minister of Higher Education and Research of France, Qong‘irotboy Sharipov, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan, as well as leaders, professors, and scientists from over 30 leading higher education institutions of Uzbekistan and France.

 

 

The event featured a plenary session and three breakout meetings.

 Plenary Session – The session discussed the reforms in higher education systems in both Uzbekistan and France, the government's focus on the development of education and science, as well as the prospects for bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

 

 

 Breakout Session 1: Establishment of an Uzbekistan-France University
- Negotiations were held regarding the establishment of an Uzbekistan-France University in Tashkent.
- The education ministers of Uzbekistan and France signed an agreement to establish this university.

 

 

 Breakout Session 2: Scientific and Technical Cooperation and Engineer Training
- Issues related to the establishment of joint scientific laboratories, implementation of innovative projects, and the training of engineering specialists were discussed by Uzbek and French universities.
- Memorandums of cooperation in the fields of biotechnology, information technologies, and engineering were signed.

 Breakout Session 3: Cooperation in Cultural Heritage and Tourism
- Agreements were signed on cultural exchanges, archaeological research, and the development of tourism between Uzbekistan and France.
- Collaboration with leading museums in France was also established.

 

 

 Over 20 agreements were signed between universities of Uzbekistan and France on joint educational programs and the professional development of professors and teachers.

In the cultural part of the conference, a fashion show titled “Uzbek Fashion: Traditions and Peaks of Inspiration” was held, showcasing national attire. An exhibition dedicated to Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage and tourism potential was also organized.

 Several important decisions were made during the conference aimed at strengthening scientific, educational, and cultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and France:

- The establishment of the Uzbekistan-France University in Tashkent was agreed upon.
- Joint scientific research projects and international grant programs for young scientists were launched.
- New projects to promote Uzbek and French cultures were developed.

This event marked a significant step in bringing scientific and educational relations between Uzbekistan and France to a new level.
