2026-06-18 12-48 TİKA Representatives Visit Uzbekistan State World Languages University
On June 16, a meeting was held at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University with representatives of the delegation from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).
The delegation included Esin Acar Ergin, Head of the TİKA Representative Office in Uzbekistan; Ali Yücel, Deputy Head of the Representative Office; Muhsin Balcı, Specialist of TİKA’s Uzbekistan Department (Ankara); and Project Manager Farrukh Abdullayev.
Representing the university were A. Nasirov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation; Kh. Yuldashev, Head of the International Cooperation Department; U. Yuldoshev, Dean of the Faculty of Translation Studies; E. Muydinova, Head of the Department of Second Foreign Languages; and Turkish language instructor Iqbol Guler.
During the meeting, the participants discussed opportunities for strengthening cooperation in translator training, particularly in the field of simultaneous interpreting. Discussions also focused on establishing a “Turkish Language Translation Center” and a “Simultaneous Interpretation Laboratory” at the Faculty of Translation Studies, implementing grant programs for the professional development of Turkish language teachers, promoting student exchange initiatives, organizing short- and long-term training courses, internships, and summer and winter camps.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the delegation visited the premises allocated for the future center at the Faculty of Translation Studies and reviewed the available furniture and technical equipment. The parties also exchanged views on prospects for further expanding bilateral cooperation.
