Uzbekistan State World Languages University Discusses Future Cooperation with Representatives of Jeju National University

On 27 July 2026, the Rector of Uzbekistan State World Languages University, Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, received a delegation from Jeju Province of the Republic of Korea and representatives of Jeju National University.

At the beginning of the meeting, the guests were provided with a comprehensive overview of the university's activities, its major achievements in recent years, and the outcomes of its international cooperation initiatives.

During the discussions, it was emphasized that the Korean language education system at USWLU has been consistently developing since 1995. Particular attention was given to the university's productive partnerships with leading higher education institutions in the Republic of Korea, as well as the academic, methodological, and practical support provided by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

In particular, it was noted that KOICA's grant of USD 1,116,000, allocated to further enhance the quality of Korean language, literature, and culture education, together with its financial support for establishing two simultaneous interpretation laboratories to train highly qualified interpreters, serves as a vivid example of the successful cooperation between the university and the Republic of Korea.

The university also expressed its sincere appreciation to Jeju National University for its continued support in organizing summer schools and internship programmes for USWLU students and faculty members.

For their part, the Korean representatives reaffirmed their readiness to further expand bilateral cooperation, including the joint development and implementation of dual degree programmes proposed by USWLU, as well as practice-oriented educational projects.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides exchanged views on strengthening educational and research cooperation, expanding academic mobility, and implementing prospective joint projects.
