Uzbekistan State World Languages University Discusses Future Cooperation with the Ambassador of Argentina

On 27 July 2026, Enrique Ignacio Ferrer Vieyra, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Argentine Republic to the Republic of Uzbekistan (with residence in Moscow), paid an official visit to Uzbekistan State World Languages University.

At the beginning of the visit, the distinguished guest was presented with video materials introducing the university's activities, its achievements in recent years, and the outcomes of the USWLU delegation's visit to leading higher education institutions in Argentina.

Following the presentation, the Rector of the university, Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, briefed the Ambassador on the large-scale reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan's higher education system, the university's ongoing institutional development, and its priority areas for expanding international cooperation.

During the meeting, it was noted that despite the agreements reached during the USWLU delegation's visit to Argentine higher education institutions in April 2025, the partner universities have not yet taken sufficient practical steps to implement these agreements.

To elevate bilateral cooperation to a new level, the Rector proposed several initiatives, including launching student and faculty exchange programmes, attracting qualified Spanish language specialists and native speakers from Argentina to the university, implementing joint educational programmes, encouraging more Argentine students to study at USWLU, and strengthening cooperation in other areas of mutual interest.

For his part, Ambassador Enrique Ignacio Ferrer Vieyra stated that Argentina places great importance on expanding cooperation with Uzbekistan in the fields of education, science, and research, and affirmed that he would engage with the leadership of Argentine higher education institutions to advance these initiatives.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized that further strengthening educational cooperation is of great importance and mutual benefit for both countries and expressed their readiness to continue working together to implement prospective joint projects and deepen bilateral relations.
