UzSWLU and the University of Buenos Aires sign cooperation agreement
On April 24, 2025, a delegation from the Uzbekistan State World Languages University (UzSWLU), headed by Rector Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, visited one of Argentina's leading higher education institutions – the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA). During the meeting, a bilateral cooperation agreement was signed with the UBA's Faculty of Filosofía y Letras (Philosophy, Languages, and Literature), where over 25,000 students are enrolled.
This agreement envisions the expansion of ties in academic and educational fields, the establishment of academic mobility for students and faculty, the development of joint educational programs, and the facilitation of the exchange of ideas in these areas.
The Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) was founded in 1821 and is the largest and most prestigious university in Argentina. Currently, the university has approximately 350,000 students. UBA comprises 13 independent institutes, 20 museums, more than 5 hospitals, 13 scientific research institutes, 6 schools and colleges, 1 veterinary clinic, and the Ricardo Rojas Cultural Center.
According to the results of the 2025 QS World University Rankings, UBA is among the top 100 universities globally, ranking 71st, and holds the 1st position among Latin American higher education institutions. The university is ranked 35th in academic reputation and 38th in employer reputation.
Furthermore, UBA has produced 17 Argentine presidents and 5 Nobel Prize laureates to date.
This agreement is a practical manifestation of the consistent efforts of the Uzbekistan State World Languages University to expand international relations and strengthen educational and scientific integration.
