2026-06-02 01-07 UzSWLU Hosts Meeting with Representatives of an Italian University
On June 1, 2026, Uzbekistan State World Languages University (UzSWLU) hosted a meeting with a delegation from the University of Modern Languages and Communication of Milan, Italy.
The delegation included Giovanna Rocca Shaid, Dean of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, and Massimo De Giuseppe, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism. The guests were welcomed by A. Nasirov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at UzSWLU, X. Yuldashev, Head of the International Cooperation Department, U. Yuldoshev, Dean of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, and B. Ergashova, Head of the Department of Italian Language Translation Theory and Practice.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the training of translators and interpreters, including simultaneous interpreters, professional development opportunities for tour guides and interpreters, as well as enhancing the professional competencies of teachers of Italian and other foreign languages.
The parties also exchanged views on launching student exchange programs, organizing short- and long-term educational courses, arranging student internships, and holding summer and winter schools.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed their interest in expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthening academic ties, and implementing joint educational projects.
