UzSWLU Hosts Scientific and Practical Seminar for Students
A scientific and practical seminar entitled "The Role of Grants and Subsidies in Developing Student Entrepreneurship: State and International Funding Programs" was held at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages (UzSWLU). The event aimed to ensure meaningful use of students' summer vacation, while enhancing their knowledge and practical skills in entrepreneurship, startup development, and the effective use of grants and subsidies.
The seminar was organized at the initiative of the Faculty of Russian Philology in cooperation with the Department for Commercialization of Scientific and Innovative Developments, the UzSWLU Career Center, and the International Rankings Office. Students of the Faculty of Russian Philology participated both in person and online via the Zoom platform.
During the seminar, F. Abdullayeva, Head of the Department for Commercialization of Scientific and Innovative Developments, together with department specialists S. Ismoilov and D. Azizova, provided detailed information about the department's activities, mechanisms for supporting startup and innovation projects, procedures for participating in national and international grant programs, and available project funding opportunities.
Sh. Minosidinov, a specialist from the UzSWLU Career Center, introduced students to the career.edu.uz platform and the "Kelajakka qadam" (Step Towards the Future) program. He also offered recommendations on student employment, graduate career placement, strengthening cooperation with employers, and procedures for applying for available job vacancies.
The seminar also featured Qodirbek Bobosherov, a staff member of the International Rankings Office and a graduate of the University of Reading (United Kingdom), where he completed his master's degree under the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation scholarship. He shared his personal experience in identifying and selecting international grant opportunities, preparing high-quality application documents, writing effective motivation letters, preparing for interviews, and successfully securing scholarships and grants.
At the end of the seminar, students received comprehensive answers from experts to the questions that interested them.
